In camp training: Day 7

0700 hrs: Woke up to my alarm... nuahz another 10 mins in bed...
0725 hrs: Buy Straits Times from mama shop...
0745 hrs: Reached camp...
0800 hrs: Roll-call...
0805 hrs: SODB...
0830 hrs: FPT...
0900 hrs: Reading HOME section of Straits Times...
0930 hrs: Drove out to Hougang Market for breakfast... Fried Noodles + Fried Chicken Wing + Fried Egg + Fried Luncheon Meat = S$3.00... + kopi = S$0.80...

1020 hrs: Drove through Defu Lanes and entered camp via Paya Lebar gates...
1030 hrs: Still stuck at Paya Lebar gates from the tight security checks...
1040 hrs: Dropped a fella off at the Medical Centre...
1050 hrs: Back at Flight... realised I was the last one back and everyone has moved out onto the training grounds already... (Opps...)

1100 hrs: Aimlessly walking around on the training grounds and detouring around huge and deep puddles of muddy water... too many NSMen, too little heavy plants... Even Dumptrucks have 3 NSMen inside each... I got no plants to get onto...

1105 hrs: Realised 963 role not taken, driver nowwhere to be seen... walked back to Flight... sign out for plant key... wear safety helmet... walk to carpark to take my water bottle from my car... walk back to Flight to refill ice-cold water... take fire extinguisher... walk to Plant Yard to find that new China-made ZL50G wheel loader...

1125 hrs: Still figuring out the control panel in the plant yard... totally never driven the ZL50G before... I can't close the door, can't find the aircon switch, can't even find the fan-switch, and I dunno where's the parking brake...

1130 hrs: Finally drove the clumsy vehicle out the plant yard... handling sucks...
1135 hrs: Scooping sand from a stockpile and pouring them back... (read: playing with sand...)

1145 hrs: Low-bedder transporting the 1st generation Caterpillar 950s and 120Gs off for scrap... took off my helmet to salute our old plants' decommissioning...

1200 hrs: Finally figured out the where the switch for the cabin fan is... so damn stuffy inside the cabin... and how to close the door of the cabin... started to rain heavier... training halted due to CAT 1... total training time: 25 mins playing with sand...

1210 hrs: Parked back the ZL50G... was picking up my fire extinguisher when I finally found where the goddam aircon switch is located.... behind the seat... splendid China design...

1230 hrs: Lunch time~~ "Met-warning of showers and thunderstorms, from 1230 hrs to 1300 hrs, lightning-risk CAT 1" (read: no training allowed... yay!) ...

1300 hrs: Hot Asphalt order arrives... training not allowed... S$2,000 worth of training materials gone to waste in the rain...

1305 hrs: "Met-warning of showers and thunderstorms, lightning-risk CAT 1, has been extended to 1400 hrs..."

1330 hrs: Eating Del-Monte Bananas... Chit-chatting...
1400 hrs: "Met-warning of showers and thunderstorms, lightning-risk CAT 1, has been extended to 1500 hrs..." ... Cook my 2nd Cup Noodles for lunch...

1430 hrs: Reading MAIN section of Straits Times...
1500 hrs: "Met-warning of showers and thunderstorms, lightning-risk CAT 1, has been extended to 1600 hrs..." ... read CLASSIFIED section of Straits Times...

1530 hrs: Chit-chatting...
1600 hrs: "Met-warning of showers and thunderstorms, lightning-risk CAT 1, has been extended to 1800 hrs..."... carry on chit-chatting...

1630 hrs: Signing out...
1645 hrs: Home!
