Panasonic LX3

Panasonic LX3
Original post via Dannychoo:

Friends had known me as a hyper trigger-happy fella with a camera and I almost bring a camera with me everywhere I go. Kokuhen-san knew I've always wanted a DSLR for my toys and just recently reminded me that Danny uses the LX3 and still takes great photos too...

I got a little poisoned...
(below: Puchi Nendoroid Haruhi with LX3)
Dannychoo's review of the LX3 is here, and I've borrowed most of his materials over. Do check out his site too for more complete information ya!
The Panasonic Lumix LX3 is a high-end compact camera; unlike a standard compact camera (those Dummy Point-n-Shoot), high end compact cameras allows the user to control the aperture and exposure just like a DSLR and the picture quality is far superior than due to the higher quality / larger lens.

(below: the USB / AV / Power attachments; there is also a joystick)
The LX3 has a F2.0-F2.8 24-60mm Leica DC Vario-Summicron lens. Images are captured on a 1/1.63-inch CCD-sensor sporting 10.1 million effective pixels...

(below: allows you to adjust the aspect ratio.... I definitely love the 16:9...)
Here's the difference between the aspect ratios...Uses the standard litium battery pack and SD card... (probably the only downside is battery lifespan)Also has a thumbnail-view... I guess more and more cameras are expecting such feature in the program...
Below: a photo Dannychoo took at ISO400. The Lumix LX3 has the ability to take great shots at low light... (note: without flash; I never take photos with flash)Below: Dannychoo's shot using macro mode.... quality is wicked too!
You can even take HD video with the Lumix LX3 at 1280 x 720 and 24FPS~ below is a sample taken by Dannychoo himself:

Another awesomely aesthetically appealing thing is its combination with the Ricoh LC-1 self-retaining lens cap... (in the picture below...)
Here's the Lumix LX3 attached with the Ricoh LC-1 cap...
... and when the camera is switched on... the lens extends outwards, pushing the cap open...
Watch the complete motion below:

A must-have for most camera users who wants to their camera to look even more stylo-milo~ the Ricoh LC-1 self retaining cap fits onto a lot of compact camera models~

And for those who encounter vignetting problems with the flaps... you might consider refering to the following link that shows a step by step on a little modification here.
