This article at Sankaku probably sent many like-minded hobbyist like me flying off to our figurine display shelves to take a closer examine of our Hatsune Miku to ascertain if we got the real deal...
I can't read Japanese, but I'll try to decipher to the best of my guess...

Below pictures shows the FAKE one on your LEFT. REAL one on your RIGHT.


FAKE one's eyes are looking leftwards and her mouth is closed, while the spare face is looking forward with her mouth opened. But the REAL one is the opposite. Also, the REAL one comes with her spare hair in wrapped in plastic to protect its paintwork.
Over all paintwork looks messy.
The "GOODSMILE COMPANY" branding is off-colour. Also, the "Copyright" logo on the FAKE one is not encircled; its merely a letter C.In the box interior, the "NENDOROID" wording of the FAKE one are up-side down.The stand-base of the FAKE one has infamous "M.I.C." trademark...
