September 2009: Part 2

September 2009: Part 2
How time flies~ been very busy these period of time, so even my September post came a week late~ ^^||

16 September 2009
My bunny fell ill, so I was tasked to send it to the vets... did not realise that it hasn't been eating for the past 4 days... s0 when I carried him up to put into the carrier, I was shock by how light he was!
18 September 2009
Somewhere around Bedok... nope, not an accident, merely a bobo driver who drove his car up the island and lodged it stuck there... The fatso driver wasn't very happy when I went up there to take a photo... SJR 5485 K... buy 4D~
2:04pm~ I was back at the Vets again... Bunny's condition worsened, and now he has got an infection at the eyes... Poor thing...
8:43pm... Last day of the Hungry Ghost Festival... I was tasked to burn incense offerings at the void deck... Love spinning those incense paper... ^^
19 September 2009
If you happened to be at The Illuma (new shopping mall at Bugis), do meal out at EBISBOSHI SHOTENGAI Japanese Restaurant. There, you will be given an electronic pen where you can place your order directly on the menu, which is embedded with many sensory chips. Point on the Chawamushi and the pen reads out your order. Then select the quantity and press confirm on the menu! And your Chawamushi will be delivered in a couple of minutes! Pretty fun!
There are a total of 3 Japanese Restaurants there, each with a different theme... gotta try them out!
2:08pm~ Its the 1st day of the 8th Lunar Month~ so the Kwan Yin Temple at Waterloo Street (四马路观音庙) is packed with devotees~
20 September 2009
10:25am~ its a Sunday! Woke up early for Roti Prata cuz I have the cravings~ hurhurhur~
22 September 2009
11:11am @ Simei Eastpoint NTUC~ Grocery shopping with mum~ first stop is always to shop for chicken breast meat for my puppy~
23 September 2009
12:22am~ Supper time! Oh I wanna take this opportunity to introduce you guys this very tasty CQYD Instant Noodles - Tokyo Shoyu Flavour!
The ingredients inside comes packed with the usual MSG powder, a packet of Japanese shoyu, and a packet of air-sealed cripsy seaweed stripes!
Pour in the MSG powder with moderation... (my hand slipped and the whole packet went in ^^|)
Then pour in the Shoyu with moderation as well, cuz its very oily (my hand slipped again and the whole packet went it as well~ >.> )
Lastly~ top it off with the packet of crispy seaweed stripes!
Tada~! Belly nice~
6:22pm @ Jalan Berseh Food Centre~ just had dinner with the guys and thought I would top it off with an Ice Kacang! Yummy~
25 September 2009
5:21pm... Was at Honda's place again... Heading to Lavender Food Court at Foch Road for dinner~ Jalan Berseh is lined with lotsa food~
6:17pm~ checking out the newly opened City Square Mall right beside where Honda was staying... This is one kick-ass machine by Pepsi. Feed it cans or plastic bottles and it will reward you with a receipt (yea I was wondering out loud why do I need receipts for recycling rubbish) so you can redeem some points in exchange for Pepsi products~ Cool huh?
6:20pm~ Ever seen 2 men buying babies diapers?
28 September 2009
6:25pm @ Siglap Food Court~ was there specially to eat this Black Pepper Calamari~ Yummy stuff~
Tom Yum soup there was so-so only~
But the Pineapple Rice there is a thumbs up~
29 September 2009
5:09pm @ Changi Airport Cargo Complex... There for some work... Learnt some valuable lessons about buying things from overseas...
(a) Know what you are buying, inside out; (b) Communicate clearly; (c) Never assume.
These are Plummer Block Adapter Sleeves... the most critcal part that my supplier did not provide. I had to have these fly in from China... waste my money.
7:00pm~ @ Sakae Sushi restaurant @ Terminal 2~ ^^ Sunshine Maki~
30 September 2009
6:04pm @ Funan IT Mall's Running Labs. Honda was there to buy a good pair of running shoes. Service staff at the Running Labs was 100% professional. Makes lotsa sense to buy my next pair of running shoes there cuz the staff really knows their stuff... (pun not intented ^^ ).

Make a choice 5: Part 2

Penang 2D1N

Penang 2D1N

03rd October 2009
5:35am @ Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1... departing for Penang on JetStar flight... this trip is partial leisure partial business~
(Side track a little... if you'd notice this booth at the airport, you can have your luggage securely wrapped up in plastic for as little as S$10.00.)
9:40am... arrival @ G-Hotel Penang~!
G-Hotel's lobby in the morning~
You can check out their wonderful website at www.ghotel.com.my
The usual card access... you'll need this card to access the guest floors via the lift. Very nice level of security there...
Executive Room @ Room 1415~ comes with a King-size bed and a spectacular sea-view~
Room was very spacious~ comes with a mini-bar, a mini hi-fi with an iPod dock, broadband and WiFi access... 30" TV, and a security safe in the closet...
Huge bathroom too~ with a generous offer of toiletries... (there's a hair-dryer and a facial mirror mounted on the wall beside, not in this photo).
Lack of a bathtub is the only minus point (unless they have the Sun-Flower showerhead above the ceiling like the one at Dorsett Hotel in JB)
The bathroom is covered in gorgeous marble flooring... which makes using the potty here a pretty shivering experience...
Pull the curtains and turned up all the lights for the most comfortable ambiance~ that couch beside the bed is those that you makes you go "Oooohh~" type...
Being at the 14th floor means I have a great view of Penang's coast...
12:12pm~ heading out for lunch~ Gurney Plaza is right at the doorstep of G-Hotel~
Rows of nice restaurants lined the perimeters of Gurney Plaza... great for the evening alfresco ppl~
The plaza in between the shopping mall and the hotel~ some bazaar going on there...
12:42pm~ Lunch at Sushi King Japanese restaurant...
Japanese food never bores me~
Sushi King packs some very interesting sushi varieties I've never seen in Singapore~ Here's a simple Cheddar Cheese Sushi~
This one packs wasabi and crabstick~ love the colour~ tastes good too~
Golden Ball~ soft on the inside and crispy on the outside~
Inari Burger~
Inari Tuna sushi~
Sashimi Moriwase~ fresh and succulent slices~
My Japanese meals always have fried ebi tempura~ Sushi King does it good by serving the tempura sauce steamy hot. Thumbs up.
Hotate Miso soup~ yummy~
Garlic rice was so-so~ I've tasted better ones~
Chawamushi always tastes great~
3:54pm~ @ the famous Ghee Hiang place (215 Macalister Road, Penang)...
sells very good Tau Sa Piah and a variety of many other local Chinese pastries~
since year 1856~
4:46pm~ back shopping at Gurney Plaza shopping mall again~ the mall is filled with famous brands and restaurants~ there's even a Cinema at the top level~ 10 storeys of shopping~
6:26pm~ the famous Gurney Drive Hawker Food Street~
the crowd starts to pour in from 6:00pm onwards, but a sudden torrential rain kept the hawkers busy setting out the giant umbrellas~
It started drizzling when I reached there and many customers could be seen evacuating the place for shelter~ I was lucky to have grabbed an umbrella at the hotel lobby before coming out here...
Char Kway Teow was beckoning me... I just couldn't leave...
=D~ the famous Penang Char Kway Teow!
only RM 4.00~the hawkers were still preparing the ingredients...
Grill Fish stall calling out to me too...
Grilled stingray at only RM 8.00 (where can you find such cheap price in SG?!)
all this while~ this uncle from the fruit juice stall beside me was like holding on to this umbrella at my table... cuz when the wind blows, the umbrella will fly~
the supposedly crowded Food Street was pretty much empty at 7:03pm due to the rain~
There were so many stalls there that my stomach didn't have the space for all of them~ thats Kway Teow Thng and McTucky Fried Chicken stall...
Yes... I repeat: McTucky Fried Chicken... anyone working for McDonald's wanna inform your boss to get a lawyer?
The famous Penang's Assam Laksa! Only Rm 4.00~ This is on the "OMG~ TASTY" level~ look for the stall that have a Fried Oyster stall on the left...
... and here's the Fried Oyster~ Rm 3.00... so so only~
Best Penang Rojak (thats the stall name... u'll see other adjectives like 'Famous', 'Authentic', 'Original' Penang Rojak as stall names there... pretty confusing... kekeke)...
Didn't have the chance to try the Fried Lok Lok there... for those who likes fried skewered stuffs~
Had a plate of Rojak at Rm 4.00~
7:48pm~ G-Hotel and Gurney Plaza at night~ it was Mid-Autumn Festival that evening~ but the rain clouds blocked out the moon...
G-Hotel's lobby in the evening~
the lights changes~
very nice ambiance there~
04th October 2009
10:17am @ the Executive Lounge~ Breakfast time! G-Hotel lets guests staying at the Executive Floors a choice of having breakfast either at the Executive Lounge at level 15, or ground floor at the G-Cafe~ Nope, my croissant isn't charred, it was covered with fruity seeds~ tastes great!
1:42pm~ already checked out of the hotel~ but having my last cup of mocha at the Executive Lounge and enjoying the sea view up there...
another part of the Lounge gives a view of the hills behind Penang~
One last photo of the Gurney Drive Coast~
Afar, that's the Gurney Drive roundabout~
Just right beside the roundabout is that famous Hawker street I had dinner at last evening~ just 5minutes walk away~
4:47pm~ waiting for my 5pm flight back to Singapore~
