Phuket - Phi Phi Islands: Day 6

Phuket - Phi Phi Islands: Day 6
2nd March 2009

7:58am Phuket time...
Loh Dalum Bay is at its low-tide again~
Its pretty amazing to how much water came into the bay during high-tide... and how far it goes out during low-tide...
We were out early in the morning and the first thing to do is to do what us Singaporeans does best - "chope" a couple of deck chairs with the nicest view. Just 3 metres ahead, the waters of Loh Dalum Bay will reach the breakwaters during high-tide at a metre drop below...
The hotel has a counter issuing beach towels beside the pool~ guests will just have to draw some beach towels and lay them over these rows of deck chairs, and its considered "taken", whether you're using the deck chairs or not does not matter...We just laid the towels on the chairs and deposited a bottle of tan block and my slippers there... then we left for breakfast~8:07am Phuket time...
Breakfast at MAya Restaurant... its basically the same O' breakfast the past few mornings (except the eggs looked nicer every day). Not that I mind, because the rest of the island is not awake yet... so I dun think I'd be able to find breakfast easily out in the streets~
8:56am Phuket time...
The water has started to flow into Loh Dalum Bay at amazing speed... just an hour ago, the water was so far out...
After breakfast, we simply laze in the shade under this beach umbrella...
... enjoying the view of Loh Dalum Bay one more time... (definately not the last). This is Loh Dalum Bay at 10:26am Phuket time...12:18pm Phuket time...
Heading out for lunch... took this photo as we past the hotel infront...
12:34pm Phuket time... Lunch at Tonsai Restaurant...
Banana Shake and Watermelon Juice...Pineapple rice~ I just love it so much~
Onion rings~ these are HUGE~ join your thumb and middle finger of your left and right hand together to form a circle, and thats roughly the size...
Tom Yum Goong~!
Tiramisu mousse~ we have this every meal~!
Chocolate mousse~
3:12pm Phuket time...
We checked out of Cabana Hotels and headed out with our mega size luggages in search of a place for some nice foot massage... (Cabana Hotel was nice enough to let us check-out at 2pm instead of 11am...). We enjoyed an hour of foot massage at this place and took this photo after we got out. Here're the rates... a full hour foot massage for just 300Thb, thats approx. S$13.00 only! Where else would you find such a deal~?3:14pm Phuket time...
We went to the fresh fruit stall for more coconut juice~! The stall already ran out of the larger-size coconuts (30Thb each) cuz we really cleared their stocks~ bought smaller-sized ones at 20Thb each...3:34pm Phuket time...
We arrived at a little cafe right beside the Phi Phi Pier... our Ferry was at 4:10pm Phuket time... We booked for a high-speed ferry this time round, so the trip back to Phuket Town took only 60mins (instead of 90mins via the normal ferry @ 300Thb). Damage was 600Thb /person (further towards the east of the island, it was sold for 500Thb/person). We thought it was worth it because time = money. Ordered a cup of mocha cuppucino...
4:03pm Phuket time...
On Phi Phi Pier... a thunderstorm loomed ahead.... the locals said that its finally gonna rain for the first time of the week... (its an avg. 30mm rainfall for February versus 195mm for the whole year...).
4:34pm Phuket time...
On board the High-Speed Ferry on the way back to Phuket Pier... there was a slightly delay due to the storm...
5:23pm Phuket time...
Arrived at Phuket Pier...
5:45pm Phuket time...
Booked for a taxi right at Phuket Pier Centre... 750Thb for the Airport transfers (approx. S$32.00). Vehicle was a black Honda City saloon car, polished so shiny I could see my reflection when I was opening the car door... trip from the Pier to the Airport is approx. 60mins, but we ran into the peak hours jam...6:46pm Phuket time...
Finally arrived at the Phuket Airport... the traffic jam pulled our 60mins trip to 90mins... luckily we arrived in time to check-in...
Photographed the departure hall...
Here's a short clip of the Phuket Airport departure hall...

Dunkin' Donuts and Burger King were amongst the many foot outlets there...
The Custom Checkpoint Office before the departure gates...
Inside... a roadshow by a real-estate company... loved the backdrop, so we asked the lady at the counter to help us with a picture~ keke~ We Absolutely Love Phuket!
Was given a free-magazine... a really nice and professional one by the real-estate firm... apart from Thailand highlights, the magazine features many of such sea-view condos and pool-villas for sale... the price ranges between some 5million Bahts - 13million Bahts... 5million Bahts for a seaview condo... that's a mere S$220,000~ (I can't even get a decent HDB flat with this amount!)
Duty-free goods~
Here's the guest lounge... the gate hasn't open, so we waited here...
The air was filled with the smell of burgers from this Chester's Grill...
11:06pm Singapore time... @ Changi Airport Terminal 2~
Home Sweet Home~
11:39pm Singapore time...
First thing I do when i reached home is to stick these fridge magnets on... This is Phi Phi Island BEFORE the tsunami...and this is Phi Phi Island AFTER the tsunami...
